Another Restaurant You Should Visit in Ibadan (Cafe Chrysalis) – Tales of Food Tourist Episode 3

I’ve come again with gist — For the first time in a very long time, I really felt like compiling the name of noisemakers when I visited Cafe Chrysalis. The ambience is dope, but the noise that welcomed us wasn’t it at all. It was my sister’s birthday so I had to keep my cool. But, how can people be so talkative in a fine restaurant like that? Just saying🤷‍♀️ Well, that matter is for Mathias so, we had our sits and tried to mind our business.

One fine waiter, dark, slim, average height attended to us, and gave us their menu. Oh! Lest I forget, my sisters got parfait downstairs and it’s the best I’ve had this year but, I don’t remember the name of the company🤦‍♀️I’m sorry. Back to my gist, the waiter carefully assisted us with our orders, heartily suggested other combos when we were confused and patiently told us the prices. Seriously, I was impressed. I asked him to be sincere about when our food will be ready since we were not there to sell groundnut and he said 45 minutes. That’s long right, but it won’t be an issue for me if 45 is 45 and not 90 minutes.

My sister frankly told him again, “If our orders are not ready after 45 minutes, we’re leaving without paying” He smiled and said it would be ready. Okay, no problem, I was jejely* waiting for him to come to apologize after the 45 minutes but guys, he disappointed me and even showed up with all our orders within 30 minutes. Isn’t that a big clap for their customer service and brand integrity?😂😂

For the food, I think you need to take a closer look at the food again. When I saw the way the food was partitioned in the fine plate, my stomach was crying because, o wa* touching. The combo was suggested by the waiter and it was so good — a mixture of peppered goat meat, with jollof rice and veggies all for 2500 naira.

Trust me, I started with the veggies and I was expecting something quite bitter but you see ehn, I couldn’t get myself to stop eating it, the taste was indescribable* Then the goat meat was well spiced, with elegant bell peppers winking at me, plus some sweet things that all made sense. The jollof rice was simply joylove😍😋and then the rest for this particular review cannot be history simply because they served the bill with candy. I couldn’t stop laughing that day.

Cafe Chrysalis has more than one branch in Ibadan but I visited the one at Jericho Mall. Click here for directions. Have you been to Cafe Chrysalis before?
